Abstract

Sustainability has become a matter of materiality in the stock market, such that ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) factors, beyond the environment, have gained prominence. Therefore, this monograph aims to assess the disclosure of nonfinancial information by analyzing the questionnaire used for the theoretical portfolio selection of B3's ISE (Sustainability Index), as well as the performance of this index compared to the market benchmark, IBOV, over the periods of ten, five, and one year starting from 2013. The instrumental and methodological tools employed include the databases provided by B3, the reports on non-financial information released by companies, and the technical analysis of charts plotted on the TradeView website. As a result, it was observed that the Brazilian stock market does not consider ESGoriented securities, such as those traded on the ISE, as significantly relevant compared to the IBOV.
