Abstract

The aim of this article is to characterize the process of "platformization" in sports broadcasts on the streaming platforms HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video and Star+. It addresses digital platforms and sports broadcast on streaming platforms through the bibliography and documentary research and multiple case studies. The categories of analysis are data infrastructure, markets, governance, practices and affordances, and content. We note that these platforms act as distributors of sports programs, submitting, for this purpose, to the question of the image rights of clubs and advertisers of third channels. This type of content is therefore less submitting to the datafication and governance determined by the platform than the other audiovisual products offered to them.
