Abstract

This article considers the current context of Cuba's migratory experience, configured based on a dynamic of transnational digital communication. In the first part of the text, some elements of digital activism on the island are presented, showing how experiences of injustice can configure media devices that act as articulators of multiple forces and arrangements that can cross a transmedia and transnational communication context. We then explain the methodological procedures adopted for the case analysis of the narratives built in the online mobilization around the death of a one-year-old Cuban child, Paloma, after being vaccinated. We argue that the creation of a transnational (trans) media device for offline / online communicative interactions was possible in this case by the political-affective engagement of actors located inside and outside Cuba in multiple offline and online spaces.
