Abstract

The present work seeks to point out the territoriality relations from the perspective of life of the Quilombola dos Arturos Community, located in the municipality of Contagem, Minas Gerais. The aforementioned community was considered an intangible heritage of the municipality. The Arturos represent a portrait of the cultural, territorial identity and traditions of black Africans brought to Brazil and who underwent a process of historical erasure. Thus, the relationship between the community and the sociocultural space and its connection between ethnic rights and the territory is investigated. To achieve this objective, it was necessary to carry out a survey of academic productions, theoretical references that deal with the subject. In addition, certain connections were pointed out between the research carried out previously and some contributions on the history of the Arturos. In this way, it was possible to understand the Community's connections with the territory and the affective bonds that were created.
