Abstract

In view of the significant Brazilian housing deficit and the hegemony of conventional construction technologies, widespread in civil construction in Brazil, this work deals with the constructive rationalization in Social Housing, emphasizing the application of Light Steel Framing. In this article, the post-occupational assessment of one of the first housing developments built in Light Steel Framing in Brazil allows us to discuss the users perception of this construction system and the built environment, assessing the potential large-scale use of Light Steel Framing for the production of Social Housing. Finally, this article considers and discusses the possibility that Light Steel Framing could be inserted in the scope of social technologies.
